Navicarta does not leave its clients’ web projects after the sites have been developed, but always follows through with its commitment to build its clients’ capacity to manage themselves.
We provide every client with a training manual customised for their own website, covering all aspects of day-to-day updating and maintaing of the website through the browser-based management interface. This training is complemented by either onsite or remote (via videoconference) training for designated individuals so that many future updates can be made without recourse to further web development consultancy.
Users can even be divided into content contributors, editors, and publishers, with other users assigned management and administration responsibilities. In this way, designated project representatives can be trained in the areas most relevant to their own job roles.
With the above training, it is our experience that it is possible even for those with limited IT backgrounds to manage and update the site, including all text, images and navigation menus, as well as administering the interactive website features.
Nevertheless, in order to support these users, we offer an optional ‘helpdesk’ service whereby a member of the Navicarta team will be contactable during business hours to assist users as necessary with updating or maintaining the website through the content management system.
